On our road trip through the Midwest, we stopped at the Walnut Flea Market in Iowa and found great examples of creating something new from some of these great pieces that were once part of Victorian farm houses!
We even bought a cool zinc-coated cupola (they call them witch's hats) for use as garden art. This is what the witch’s hat cupolas looks like, this one is on a barn in Wyoming. They are kind of scarce because they get blown off by tornadoes in the Midwest.
What a find! A Victorian garden gate from Wichita, Kansas. It has extra hand-wrought iron at each junction, and is so heavy it took two people to move it. I hope we don’t overload the van…the trailer is already full!
North of Des Moines we picked through hoarder’s barns like you see on TV. This is such fun! Almost as fun as picking in Provence, France (which we are doing this September….we still have room for a few people to join us. Contact us for details, 530-275-4451)
